• Guruvayoor - It is one of the most sacred pilgrim centers as far as Kerala is concerned. The outer enclosure of this temple includes the gold plated Dwajasthamban (flag post) and it measures 33.5 metres in height. It also features the Dipastambaham that is the pillar of lamps and it measures 7 metres in height. The Sreekovil is considered to be the sacred sanctum of the place and the main deity is nestled at the Sreekovil. This temple has been also graced with the idols of Edathedattu Kavil Bhagavathy, Ganapathy and Lord Ayappa and the most important fact that is associated with this temple is that the only Hindus are allowed to offer prayers at this temple.
  
  
• Sakthan Thampuram Palace - This palace was reconstructed by Sri Ramavarma Thampuran in the year 1975 and the preservation of this architectural piece of structure is taken care of by the Archaeological Department.
  
  
• Vadakkumnathan Temple: It is one of the oldest temples of Kerala and features many wall paintings that are just unique in themselves and it reflects the architectural style of Kerala.
  
  
• Town Hall: - It is noted for its picture gallery and the wall paintings of Kerala make for a great sight.
  
  
• Archeological Museun/Art Museum - It boasts of a good collection of sculptures made out of metal, woodcarvings and ancient jewelry.
  
  
• Zoo - A major tourist site for children
  
  
• Chavakkad Beach - This sea- shore offers excellent opportunities to spend great times with family or friends.
