Calicut International Airport is famous for the lead-in lighting system that ensures safety for the aircraft operations during night as well as during poor visibility conditions. The principal domestic airlines operating flights from this airport include Air India, Indian Airlines and Jet Airways. While the principal international airlines operating flights from this airport include Sri Lankan Airlines, Air India, Indian Airlines, and Air India Express.
